Five Steps To Select A "fitting" Tailboard for Your Truck

Installing the tail plate is not that complicated. Just follow these five steps and you can easily lock in the one that suits you best.

Step 1: Determine the load capacity

Choose 1.2 times the maximum weight of a single piece of cargo as the standard.

For common goods, 1 ton is usually used, so select the 1.5-ton specification; for common forklift pallet loads, it is recommended to start with 2 tons.

Choosing too small is risky, while choosing too large is a waste.

Step 2: Measure the height of the vehicle compartment

Measure three values: the height of the vehicle compartment from the ground, the width of the compartment, and the rear space.

If the distance from the ground exceeds 1.3 meters, a long type should be chosen. If it is lower than 0.7 meters, a folding type is recommended to avoid damaging the tailboard when it is unfolded.

Special attention should be paid to van-type vehicles: Make sure the tailboard does not block the tail lights and license plate when it is folded.

Step 3: Confirm the vehicle type

Truck with box body: Limited space, folding type is preferred

Flatbed truck: Loose installation is acceptable, vertical or cantilever type is fine

Light truck/mini truck: Thin frame, small battery, lightweight aluminum tailboard is the priority

Let us know your vehicle type, frame width and battery voltage in advance. This will help us confirm if it can be installed.

Step 4: Choose the material - Steel or Aluminum?

Steel tailboards: They are heavier but have a lower price and are durable, suitable for heavy goods, construction materials, and harsh working conditions.

Aluminum tailboards: They are lighter and do not rust, suitable for light trucks, seafood cold chain, and users who are sensitive to weight.

In a nutshell: Choose steel for heavy tasks, aluminum for light tasks, and aluminum for seafood transportation.

Step 5: Confirm power supply and control

Voltage: Light-duty trucks and vans typically use 12V, while medium and heavy-duty trucks use 24V. They must be compatible.

Control: Wired hand controllers are the most reliable, while wireless remote controls are the most convenient. Choose based on personal preference.

Regardless of the choice, an emergency stop button must be included.

Select the tail plate and follow these five steps: load capacity → height → vehicle model → material → power supply. Follow these steps carefully and you won't go wrong.
